    IE6 slowdown (6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030618-0119)

For the past few days IE has been remarkably slow. When I view a page - even one that's in the cache - it takes perhaps 30 seconds to load fully. Clicking on a link before it finishes loading slows things down even more. I'm right up to date (I think) with service patches. Could one of the latest patches be causing this?
    Cheers

A number of performance problems have been traced to the expiry of a Verisign certficate. Try unchecking "Check for Server Certificate Revocation" in Start|Settings|Control Panel|Internet Options|Advanced|Security. HTH

Thanks for the prompt reply, but "Check for Server Certificate Revocation" is already unchecked.

If you are saying that the offline performance of your machine is completely unaffected, the only other thing that immediately comes to mind is spyware. Have a look at the recommendations in this <!post=Star Post,296439>Star Post<!/post> in case they may make a difference. HTH

Thanks for that. The last time I ran Ad Aware and Spy Bot was a week or so ago so I ran them again. They didn't find anything huge - mainly the sort of cookies I delete regularly anyway, but there was one new nasty - Bonzi? or Buddy?? something, which I deleted.
The browser is now a little faster but not quite back to normal. Must be something else in there.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Terry

You may not have gotten completely rid of Bonzi Buddy. Check this website for removal instructions.

    Have a Great day!!!
