    lounge in win98 & xp (ie 6 )

why can i use the lounge at work on a w98se machine and not at home on an xp pro machine? on 98se i click on link, and up comes the lounge. perfect. on my xp i click on the same link, and up pops a window saying lounge not available or has moved. try these other sites. i'm not at home so i don't know exactly what it says. and when i'm home i can't get on to ask for help. catch22?

Ken, Do you have a hosts file at home with www.wopr.com defined in it? The lounge recently changed hosts and so the IP address has changed. If you don't have a www.wopr.com in your hosts file then it would seem as though your ISP still has not gotten the updated addresses (hard to believe by now). You could add the following 66.93.85.138 wopr.com & 66.93.85.138 www.wopr.com.

Ken, In Xp it is located at C:windowssystem32driversetchosts, assuming default install directory for windows Note: no extension. It is just a text file you can edit in Notepad. Be sure it has no extension when you save it.

Ken, Glad it worked. Guess your ISP finally refreshed its DNS database.
