DOS Program on XP (Windows XP Professional 2002/Se

I have been using SuperWorks, an Appleworks copy type DOS program with Windows 98 on my old computer for many years. This is my main database program which works just fine for me. Can I transfer this program to my new Windows XP computer and continue to use DOS?

Maybe. First, there is no DOS with XP. There is a command window which looks a lot like DOS. Many old programs will run under XP. There is also a compatibility wizard available to assist you. However, if the program accesses the hardware directly it won't work with XP.

One of the major problems with running DOS programs under XP, is that the printer may NOT work.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
