    Folder like interface

I have three frames, one with a huge list of info. I want to break it down to a folder like interface, when they click on the folder, it expands. Any insight on the best way to do this in HTML or JavaScript?

    Thanks!

    Re: Folder like interface

Using HTML means creating separate documents for each folder expansion. This is fine if the user is only going to be looking at one level expanded at a time. I saw this a moment ago in my seldom-checked Yahoo mailbox (below). Clicking the plus sign loads a new page into the left frame.

For more sophistication, you probably need to hunt around on the web for some JavaScript code.

    Try this one at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://javascript.internet.com/foldertree/>JavaScript</A>

Or if you don't like what Leif has suggested try going to <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.reallybig.com/>http://www.reallybig.com/</A> They have a huge amount of resources, including java, dhtml etc. I have seen similar to what you are asking for there. <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>
