    Footer with cell reference?

    Is there a way to use a cell reference in a footer in Excel 2000? I'd like to have the contents of one cell on the first worksheet of my file show as a footer on that sheet and all others in my file. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Re: Footer with cell reference?

    The following routine should place the contents of Cell A1 in the left footer pane. As it stands it selects the value in A1 for each sheet, which means the footers may be different. I was not clear exactly what you wanted. If you remove the line in red, then all sheets will have the value in Cell A1 of the active sheet when the macro is run

    Sub Footer()
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Dim wSheet As Worksheet, cSheet As Worksheet
    Set cSheet = ActiveWorkbook.ActiveSheet
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    For Each wSheet In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets
    <font color=red>wSheet.Select</font color=red>
    wSheet.PageSetup.LeftFooter = Range("A1").Value
    Next
    cSheet.Select
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    End Sub

    These PageSetup macros can run slowly
