    Auto System Restore Checkpoints question

WinME creates automatic system checkpoints for system restore. I've just checked on mine and found out that the last system checkpoint created was back in Dec 28, 2003. Before that date I have a peppering of 20 restore points in December alone.
Since then nada... nuttin honey... no checkpoints whatsoever...
Anyone have any idea where I can start looking for the cause? possible cure?
    Thanks for the assist.

I don't use it on my ME machine, so I'm not sure, but you might take a look at these two threads here in this forum: <!post=this one,177005>this one<!/post> or <!post=this one.,225614>this one.<!/post> If neither of those is of any help, do another search on this board, 'cause I didn't go all the way through the hits.

This link to a MS Knowledge Base article may be of some use:

bigaldoc: Thanks for those links, but I had already used our 'search' engine and found those links..

dengar: That link is very interesting in that it documents 'when' a system checkpoint is generated. Thank you very much for that one...
    I noticed this:
Restore points are created by Installer packages that use the new Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) technology.
and when I looked at my last checkpoints created the last entry was: Uninstall MSI..
I can only assume the uninstall was caused by an upgrade or update to the MSI software as I do not remember 'uninstalling' that (nor would I)..
Since that was back on Dec 23rd.. I need to find that log file to see what went on that day.. but this will have to wait until tonight..
    Thanks to you both.
