MSMAP in Excel 2000 and up (2002)

The MSMAP application from Excel97 and previous is no longer shipped with Excel. Somewhere I saw how to install it in the newer versions; I installed it, and it worked. Now I have changed computers, and I don't remember what I did.

Who knows how to do it?

This KB Article claims that "Excel 2002 does not support Microsoft Map".

Yes, but you CAN make MSMAP work with Excel 2002. I've been doing so on my recently abandoned computer for quite a while. I set it up based on some info I saw in this forum or elsewhere.

The routine has something to do with installing MSMAP from an old MSOffice disk. I think there is one more step, then you can then Insert a MS Map Object into your worksheet. I think I set up a macro to do the latter.

What I don't recall is how you get MSMAP into the new computer in the first place, and how you link it to Excel2000. I'm hesitant to just barge ahead and try to install it, for fear I will do some sort of violence to the existing software.
