    Logitech Mouseware

I just had to replace my hard drive (physical failure of the other one - thank goodness I was fully backed up <phew>). As I am doing this I decided to get the newest drivers for my stuff (love that word!). I have the Logitech MX700 Mouse. It has lots of buttons but they are so badly placed that 2 of them are virtually unusable by me (but that is another thread). Anyhow I installed the new drivers and I see that with all these buttons (8) Logitech, in someone's infinite wisdom (a bit touched wisdom to me) has REDUCED the number of choices that one can program the buttons. No longer can I choose to press the scrollbar and have it act like the delete key. Of the bottom thumb button and have it act like I hit enter. This seems riciculous to me. Why would the LIMIT the choices? Especially leaving out such choices as tab and enter and delete? I have no idea but I just wanted to let those of you who might choose this driver update know of its severe limitations. I reinstalled the drivers that came with the mouse (from the CD) and now have what I need. This seems just plain stupid to me!

There is now a choice called "keystroke". When you select that choice, a new box appears into which you can put ANY keystroke, including delete, etc.
