    date to text (Excel 2000)

I am loading data into a table from Excel. I need the date to be in a text format of mm/dd/yy, as the receiving table only accepts a 2-digit year. Although I format the Excel date as mm/dd/yy, the underlying date is still mm/dd/yyyy and it bombs the load. When I try text to columns, paste special, etc. I always get the serial number.

Works like a champ. Took the results of that formula, copied and pasted special (values) into a new column, then deleted both the date field and the formula. Have exactly what I need to do the load.

    Thanks
