    Splash screen fixed

Ok kids, Claude and I have fixed the splash screen. It now shows the local time. In case you see a different time then what you have, the code uses the DATE_LOCAL directive which shows the servers local time. As shown here:

As implemented by Mike, it shows EST for me (I'm in PST). Close enough, I say.

    Re: Splash screen fixed

nonon, sorry guys, a little confusing. The link I posted just showed it working... Was trying to say, 'The time and date that DATE_LOCAL gives is the local time of the server.'

I just registered my LLC and I'm trying to redesign my website along with finishing my clients sites. Been hectic.

    Mike

Why can't we just use NBT - Noble British Time, a.k.a. GMT or UTC?

    John

    (Time? It's just relative...)
    <font face="Script MT Bold"><font color=blue><big><big>John</big></big></font color=blue></font face=script>

    Ita, esto, quidcumque...

    Re: Splash screen fixed

Doesn't GMT change to observe Daylight Savings Time ? If so, then GMT and UTC are not the same.

If you recall, every April and October, there's a NEWSFLASH message reminding everyone to change the time offset in their profiles to reflect the difference from UTC (if they so choose). I for example, change from "-5" in the winter months to "-4" in the summer to show the correct time for the Eastern Time Zone (North American - Toronto, New York, etc...).

    Re: Splash screen fixed

GMT doesn't change to observe DST. (If it did you wouldn't get a NEWSFLASH!) but British clocks do. During the winter British time is the same as GMT, but during the summer it is GMT +1
