Why do Personal Settings take so long at Network (Windows XP Pro)

When a number of clients on our network (Windows 2000 Server with Active Directory) logon, the window stating "setting personal settings" takes up to a couple of minutes. So far we have not been able to figure out why. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

A likely reason is that your network is set to synchronize the user profile to the network. Depending on how you're set up this can include your "My Documents" folder, your Outlook personal storage and other big things.
