Parameter Query equivalent in Excel? (Excel 2002)

Scenario: An teacher wants to post a spreadsheet containing student marks onto a web page. Is there an equivalent to Access' Parameter query or some way a student could type in their number (in Excel) to see only their marks and not the other student's marks? Thanks in advance for any info.

You could put the grades on a hidden worksheet. Then on a visible sheet, they could type the ID Number in a cell and VLOOKUP formulas in other cells would return the appropriate information.

    <big>WARNING WARNING WARNING</big>

However, Excel is NOT very secure. It would be a fairly trivial exercise (particularly for a student) to break Excel's security and see everything on the hidden sheet.

if you make the sheets "veryHidden", and then put a password on VB project, it could be a little more secure from many users

    Yes, but it would probably not slow a student down much. <img src=/S/read.gif border=0 alt=read width=19 height=33>

Yes, but isn't the breaking of the password and cracking the code (on some level) educational! <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
