Converting from Word95 to Word 2000

I may need to open Word95 documents in Word2000. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Will I lose text? Is there any place I can get a listing of potential problems?

    Thanks.

Documents should be no problem; templates may be a problem. This is not to say there will be perfect fidelity, but I don't remember any big issues.

You should find that if you check the Tools|Options|Compatibility tab for the document it will show the version of the document as Word6.0/95, and certain default settings will be checked. Changing any of these settings may well change the layout of the document. For example, I notice the characters rearrange themselves slightly when I change Word 2.0 to Word 2000.

The MS KB Article <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q193/2/66.ASP>Q193266</A> describes which compatibility options are set in earlier version documents and why.
