    Reset auto lists (XP)

I'm embarrassed asking this question, however here goes:

How do I reset auto lists in XP? When I start to enter search text into a search engine such as Google, a list is displayed showing me previous entries. I want to reset this list and remove those entries.

    How can I do this?

    Thanks for your help.

If you are using Internet Explorer as installed with XP Home, to clear AutoComplete follow these steps:

1 - Select "Internet Options" from Tools menu
2 - Select "Content" tab on Options dialog
3 - Click "AutoComplete" button in "Personal Information" section
4 - On "AutoComplete Settings" dialog, click "Clear Forms" and/or "Clear Passwords" buttons

See attached pic of AutoComplete Settings dialog. If not using IE, not sure - I'm using IE 6.0 SP1 on WIN XP Home.

Ted, If you can find a copy of an old PC Magazine utility called Autowhat? 2.0 it will give you the ability to actually maintain the Autocomplete entries as opposed to the blanket kill them all approach of the IE option.
