Sticky Task Pane - NOT (Word/Office 2003 Standard)

In Excel 2003, if you select View, Task Pane, exit Excel and come back in the Task Pane will still be there.

In Word 2003, the next time you come in, the Task Pane will not be displayed. Does anyone know how to make it stick?

    I don't have Office 2003, so I can't test the following:
    - In Windows, click Start | Run...
    - Type regedit and press Enter or click OK.
    - Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0Common General.
    - See if a value named DoNotDismissFileNewTaskPane exists; if so, set it to 1, if not create a new DWord with this name and set it to 1.

Also, see Controlling the Task Pane, even when add-ins are present.
