    Real Audio to MP3 converter

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

I am looking for software that can aid in converting Real Audio files, I don't know which version but its one of the latest ones, to MP3 files.

My sister has many of these files, and now she got an MP3 player, and it seems that the format is not recognized at all. I don't think she has the CDs, plus some were downloaded music.

    Thanks in Advance.

Re: Real Audio to MP3 converter

Wassim, I must admit that I don't have an MP3 player, so I haven't kept abreast of that field. But you should know that RealPlayer or RealOne Player will convert its own files to MP3 but I believe you have to burn 'em to a CD to do that. When you start the CD burn process you should get asked if you want regular audio CD or MP3. Does her MP3 player use CDs? You should also be able to take files FROM a CD and rip them back onto a hard drive in MP3 format. I've done that with a number of my music CDs and many RealAudio files (.RA, .RM and so on). I too had a ton of Real files I wanted to get rid of and now they're all in MP3 format.

Many people don't like the Real products for their intrusiveness and MusicMatch Jukebox is mentioned a lot here in The Lounge. I have it installed but don't use it much.
