Multiple PDF File Download (IE6 SP1)

Title changed by unkamunka to make nature of requirement clearer.

The Hutton Report is available on their web site:-

http://www.the-hutton-inquiry.org.uk/conte...eport/index.htm but this excludes the Appendices, which run to 370 odd pages.

To download the appendices, you have to do it page by page, which is somewhat prone to error. Especially as on the Hutton Enquiry site the link to each .pdf does not change colour to indicate that it has been viewed etc.

I e'mailed them with this problem and this is the official reply:

    quote/....

Thank you for your email today.

Lumping the appendices together would make the files too big to download and this prevents them from being added to the pdf form of The Hutton Report.
It is for this reason that you will need to download the appendices
individually. At this stage no alterations are planned on the site details.

    ..../unquote

Sounds to me as if it's a case that "you're welcome to read them, but you're going to have to work at it!"

The Report is available in print for a mere GBP 70 which includes a CD-ROM as well.

Anyone got any ideas how you can "grap" so many .pdf files in not so many key strokes?

This or something similar(I use Web Stripper)should grab all files on the site, wich should include the pdf's you want.

    Hi Clive,

I use an old version of Go!Zilla (ver.3.5) which has a feature called Leech that lets you preview a site's contents. You then select what you want and download the bunch. Selecting some 370 PDFs shouldn't be much of a chore with it. I don't know about newer versions. I didn't like their interface and reinstalled 3.5. HTH.
