No downloaded email (Outlook 2000, XP Home)

My wife's computer sends messages from Outlook OK, but it doesn't download any incoming messages. So far my ISP doesn't see any problems on their end (my computer works ok,and we are both connected to the same router). Also, I notice that when clicking on Send/Receive the resulting window doesn't show the typical "receiving" task. I believe this all started when I recentlyI re-installed Outlook on her machine. Perhaps I'm missing something missing here?

I've triple checked the account settings and the smtp address is correct. I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have "Leave Messages on Server" checked under account settings - and have you checked through Tools|Options?

Actually I couldn't find the "leave mail on server" option anywhere in Outlook. However, I did solve the problem. Under Properties for the account is a box titled "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing." I had it unchecked. Checking it fixed the problem.
