    Outlook Problem (2000 SP3)

Working with a neighbor, I reinstalled windows 98 and then outlook.

We can receive messages from cable internet but cannot send. Outlook express can send and receive. Settings have been checked and are the same in both cases.

We can send and receive a message to both of us within the adelphia cable network but not to outside addresses..

    Any Ideas?????

Check under E-mail Accounts|View or Change|Change|More Settings|Outgoing Server. You may have to check the box Outgoing Server requires authentication. HTH

Thanks, but it is more complicarted than this.

I use the same outlook and it is working just fine.

I suspect it has to do with the 98 and outlook 2000 combination. along with the palm and camera on his system.

I just never seen OE work and Outlook not be able to send. His old outlook worked fine but not the 2000 version. We could not reload the original as 98 is no longer supported. His Dell cab files did allow reloading windows 98.

    Will
