    subtotals (windowsXP officeXP sp3)

    i have a sheet with sub totals as the end result. in the left hand column it has a series of "+" , whilst i open them up manually it is time consuming. can any one suggest how to open them with vba

    Checkout the ShowLevels Method of the Outline object. From the XL97 help:

    <hr>This example displays row levels one through three and column level one of the outline on Sheet1.

    <pre>Worksheets("Sheet1").Outline.ShowLevels rowLevels:=3, columnLevels:=1</pre>

    <hr>

    Also manually if you press the numbers at the top all of those level will turn to "+". Pressing the one on the furthest right will turn all to "-"
