Nice find SMBP. I've downloaded this, all ready to begin weighing down my pending clean install .

Another nice ware systray enchancement is TClockEx - enhances the standard Windows taskbar clock, adding the ability to display the date, time and lots of other information in any format you like. TClockEx is highly customizable, from the format to the font and colour, and even the tooltip information (e.g., CPU usage and system resources).

    OS: Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP

Sadly TClockEx hasn't been changed since March 2000, but it works on XP.

I like the throwaway line in the author's biography: "I'm at least 30 years old, but that figure changes annually." !

Yep, the author states plainly that he doesn't plan to work on it for the time being.

I tend to agree in this case, Ken. Sometimes no upgrades means the author has gotten it right.

In England we would say "the author has got it right."

(But who cares about the people who invented the language?)

I grew up in Chicago, where we never had this problem. We just never admitted that any author was right.

    Alan,

I have never gotten any Armani suits. I rarely wear suits.

I must have got too much time on my hands today.

    PS. Who's Bruce?

PS. Who's Bruce?

According to the Profiles List, there are at least 16 Bruces registered on the Lounge. I think people on this board are familiar with Krymow, so we can assume it's him.

    Re: Click Tray Calendar

Where I grew up, anybody who had three Armani suits would be under suspicion of having gotten them as ill-gotten gains. If the cops got him, he'd have gotten himself a prison term.

    John

    http://www.grammarphobia.com/grammar.html -
"TOMBSTONE: Use have got, not have gotten.
R.I.P. People who take this prohibition seriously have gotten their grammar wrong.

At one time, everyone agreed that the verb get had two past participles: got and gotten. (The past participle is the form of a verb that's used with have, had, or has.) It's true that the British stopped using have gotten about 300 years ago, while we in the Colonies kept using both have got and have gotten. But the result is not that Americans speak improper English. The result is that we have retained a nuance of meaning that the unfortunate Britons have lost.

When we say, Bruce has got three Armani suits, we mean he has them in his possession. It's another way of saying he has them.

When we say, Bruce has gotten three Armani suits, we mean he's acquired or obtained them.

It's a very useful distinction, and one that the British would do well to reacquire."

In Australia we'd say that the English language had evolved, rather than had gotten invented. But you're right - semantics and pedantics aside, who cares?
