    Multi task (98 se)

    My computer is running 98se, 1.2g Athlon t-bird, 512mb pc133, 40g 7200-100 hard drive.

When I start up my computer the system resources are at 89% but after I am up for a while they drop down to about 60%.

This happens when I am online for a while or when I am multitasking with Excel and Access.

I have shut down everything I can that starts automatically, checked for spyware, viruses etc..

Do you think my problem is hardware or that I should upgrade to XP?

    Thanks for your help,

    Re: Multi task (98 se)

This is NORMAL for 98. Remember that the "Resources" has a 64K limit and was done way with in Windows XP. This 64K is eaten up by your screen display including icons, screen saver, networking and etc. There really is NOT much one can do. Also remember that resources and memory are two different worlds,

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
