Importing an EXCEL spreadsheet (Access 2000)

A long while ago I used an import feature that allowed me to save an import template. This I did by using the get external data/import option. Within that option I was able to map fields to an existing table by selecting Advanced. Afterwards I could name that import template, save it and call it up in code. I no longer see that feature or don't remember how it was done. Can anyone help me?

It's always there but not to import Excel files, only to import cvs, txt, tab and asc files.

You can see the wizard if you do an *export* and by clicking the Advanced button, you can set up the spec and save it for later use. If you want to use it to import, you'll have to do the import from code and specify the spec by name.
