Internet mail name

Using Outlook 2000. My company's corporate standard for mailbox names is surname forename

When mail gets sent outside across the internet the sender is shown as mailboxname <internetaddress>

This means that people think my surname is my forename! Is there any way to change the sender field without altering the mailbox name?

the display name, not the actual internet address, correct?

only the admin can change either. he can also change it so display names are not sent to the internet, only email addresses.

    Re: Internet mail name

Are the display name and the mailbox name one and the same thing? The mailbox name is a corporate standard and therefore by definition correct but if the display name could be different ...

Can the administrator turn off sending the display name on a per user basis?
