    XP Upgrade Install (SP1)

Help, last week I cleaned out my office in preparation for remodeling. Also, bought 2 new hard drives to replace the ones I have now. And, want to do a complete clean install of XP. However, I now realize that the XP disk I have is an UPGRADE version. I threw away the CDs for Win95, 98 and XP! Does anyone know of a work around in this situation? I am in Germany but am using American English XP so brroowing an original CD might be difficult locally.

I suppose that I could transfer data from the old hard drive to the new using but, I had really hoped to do a complete fresh install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Believe you need some sort of media so the Xp install can validate a prior version.

I'm guessing here but if you could find a temporary donor of 95, 98, ME, etc, even in German, it would probably work. Remember that you don't have to actually install anything from the old disk, you just have to show it to XP to prove that you're qualified.

    good luck,
