Want: Outlook add-in, special colours for weekends

Does anyone know of an add-in or app that will enhance Outlook (2002+2003) so that week-ends are shown in different colours than the work-days?
According to Sue Mosher there is no way to do this from within Outlook (found her answer in another forum), and googling hasn't come up with anything useful. Maybe one or two of you guys and gals know something and don't mind sharing? T'would make me happy.

PS. Didn't want to post in the Outlook forum, as I reckon this is a "Software Want thing".

Well if Sue doesn't know then it probably does not exist. She is one of the really good Outlook gurus.

I was hoping that you could change the rules to automatically color weekends, if you could make them an item that would meet certain conditions, but I didn't know how to set a rule that would surgically select weekends for color. If Sue Mosher who started Slipstick Systems and has written scores of Outlook articles in this vein says it can't be done, well... Sue, Milly Staples and other Outlook book authors are all over the MS Outlook forum, and you probably floated it there or should and in Lounge Outlook if you haven't.

I did run across sites like Dev Direct Calendar Go Pro 2.1 or Calendar Components and Scheduling Tools and I don't know if one of these might be adapted. It seems you can do a number of things to mark the weekends, such as bold them, but I imagine coloring them selectively is what you're holding out for.

    Good luck,

    Thank you for the comments.

I do agree, Sue Mosher is an outstanding outlook capacity. Slipstick is one of my favourite sites to look for advice, hints and poniters to new goodies - and has been among my favourite sites since the good old Win95 days.
I found Sue's "no"-answer in a web lounge, but being an optimist, I thougt that maybe there is someone out there that has a good idea... I reckon that Sue's status as the ultimate authority is once again confirmed.
    Although a small issue, it ######s me that I can't do what I want to do. <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

I have played with rules, but can't get it to work. So I think that I have to take the weekends as they come.

The two links that SMBP posted don't seem to work - I went to the devdirect.com site homepage, tried to start from there, but the underlying pages won't show. Maybe it is my browser (IE6), it behaves a bit erratic since the latest security update from Microsoft. Slow loading, different text sizes and so on. Will try again when the spirit hits me - devdirect.com seems to be a well of information on tools for various applications.

    <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15> again to both of you for your comments.

Was it the MS Outlook newgroups? If not, try posting a question there. Perhaps another MVP knows of a winner.

The links work on 10/10 machines at multiple ectopic sites for me. Another source you might email is Diane Poremsky who is a frequent MVP contributor, has written some advanced books on Office, Word, and is an Outlook specialist. See here in the Outlook, Office Word MS newsgroups and her site is www.poremsky.com. I'd put it in the Micosoft public outlook group for sure via the web or more conveniently the OE newsreader. You might try contacting Diane as well through her site. Good luck. If you do this, please post how.

Thanks for your new comments. I am glad you guys take the time to put my search for a solution along new roads. Will pursue your suggestions. And, of course if I find a solution I will post it in this forum.
