    Combo Box (2000)

How can I limit the list visible in the combo box to only show one of each entry? For example, one of my Fields is Department, I would like Finance, Tech, etc. to only show up one instead of every time it is listed on the data-sheet

    Re: Combo Box (2000)

There are two ways to do this. The Row Source for your combo box could be set to a Departments table, that just lists each Department once.

Alternatively, if you looking at the Departments actually used in the table where you using the combo (presumably a table listing people), then look at the SQL of the query and at the word "distinct" after " Select".

Set the Row Source of the combo box to a query with its Unique Records property set to True, or to an SQL statement that begins with SELECT DISTINCT instead of just SELECT. In both cases, the query/SQL should not include fields that cause the department to repeat despite this.
