ODBC Read/Write

Is there a way to report on whether fields are read/write enabled in a database linked via an ODBC driver? I'd like to do it for all tables in the database...

What version of Access are you using? What kind of ODBC driver? What kind of connection (i.e., linked or ADO)? What do you mean by

whether fields are read/write enabled

    Re: ODBC Read/Write

    Hi Charlotte,

Access 2000. It's a proprietary driver to the database we distribute. Linked database.

By read/write I mean that the driver administers restrictions. Some fields cannot be read. Some can be read but not written to. Some have full read/write access. I'm in the position of documenting access descriptions for all fields in the database. If I can document an easy process in Access to nail down those descriptions, I'd be a very happy camper.

I hope this describes my need.

    Thanks,

    Chris
