How do I add a numerical field that is larger than (Access)

    Hi out there,

I am presently working on creating a database for a "solar system" school project. My problem is that I cant enter the data I have been given for the (distance from the sun).
I am given the message that I have entered a number in numerical field that is larger than the field size.size. The data I have to enter is 2,800,000,000. for Neptune and 3,600,000,000 for Pluto.

I can enter it into my design table using the memo option but then can't run queries?

Can anyone out there give me a clue.PLEASE.! :-) ( In the simplest of terms though as I am relatively new to Access) Cheers, Sylvie.

    Access.) Cheers. Sylvie

In table design, change the Field Size to Double and the Format to Standard.
