    OEM versions?? (Office Xp/2002)

What does it mean when someone offers the OEM version of Office or its components for sale? Is it legal? Does it just mean that there is no free support at all?

It means that they are offering a copy of Office that came bundled with a hardware purchase. It is specifically licensed for installation with that hardware.

Unless it comes with the computer it is licensed to run on, then it is illegal,

I also understand that there is no upgrade path. If you want the latest you have to pay full price.
