    File Names (Word 2002)

I have a Dell both at school and at home.

The old Dell never did this but both new ones do.

Whenever I save to the a drive, the file name always includes . Do you know any way to get rid of it? It shows up when I save the file in both Word and Excel.

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 12-Feb-04 15:16. Separated the % and 20 for posting in the Lounge.)</P>Sorry forget to tell you that. Whenever I save to the a drive, the file name always includes % 20. (without the space between % and 20)

As you may have worked out percent20 is a space in HTML-speak which is why it is not appearing in this thread.

This should provide a clue as to why A: drive is adding this code? I would expect that you could save a filename with no spaces in it and not have the percent20 added.

    What that clue means, I have no idea. <img src=/S/bagged.gif border=0 alt=bagged width=22 height=22>

I couldn't find anything on the MSKB & don't have 2002 to test, but just a couple of thoughts. Could you have modified the FileSave command? Under Tools/Options/Save tab, is the default set to Word document or Web page?
