Create a Drop Down Box (2000)

HI! Can anyone direct me as to how I can create a custom Drop Down Box for cells? For example, other people will be doing data entry onto a spreadsheet and I would like to provide them with a drop down menu of text choices that they can make to fill in that cell. Your help is greatly appreciated! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

The Data | Validation... menu is what you want. You can use a list from another (hidden) worksheet if it is a named range. HTH --Sam

The easist way to do this is to use data validation.

Select the cell you want the drop down list to appear and then Choose Data>Validation... from the menus
In the Allow box select List
In the source box select the range of cells that has the valid list of inputs. If you directly refer to the range of cells then they must be on the same worksheet, but if you use range names then the list can be on a different sheet.

    I have attached an example.
