Editing a Cold Fusion site with FP (Front Page 2002)

Is it possible to edit a site created with ColdFusion with FrontPage? It is a relatively simple site, but all the pages are .CFM files. None have ASP or PHP. It is my belief that the server on which the CF site resides must have FP extensions, or be moved to a server with FP extensions. Once this is done, I would like to be able to edit the site. Can all this be done?

FrontPage's preferred configuration is to develop locally and then publish to a site that has FP Server Extensions installed. However, FP can be used to edit any HTML page, as long as you can authenticate to the server. You probably already know that it is dangerous to edit a live site...even simple errors can cause unbelievable headaches for you and anyone with whom you share the web server...so creating a local edit/test environment is highly recommended even if you don't use FP in its preferred configuration.

As Jefferson warns, it is preferable to edit the site locally and then upload to the server. Probably the easiest solution is to download the site from the server to your local computer, do any editing that is required, and then upload your changes.
