Java JRE vs. SDK (Netscape 4.75)

I still use NS 4.75 for email & as a result, sometimes use it for browsing (when I click a link in an email). I've gone to a couple sites where I get a Javascript error & it takes me here if I answer that I want to update. There are two downloads there, JRE & SDK. I'm not sure which I should download. Anyone know? (I'm running Win98 SE)

Also, I'm not sure why I get a JavaScript error & then it takes me to the Sun Java site.

It can't be just JavaScript, the code must be attempting to invoke a Java applet. Otherwise, as you say, the JRE would be irrelevant.

While the SDK (Software Development Kit) might be fascinating, I very much doubt that you need it. Also, I suspect it's massive, so as much fun as it might be to see, the hard disk space probably has better uses. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Thanks, Jefferson. I'll go for the easier route. And you're probably right about the error. I saw it in the status bar, but didn't pay much attention to it at the time.
