    Hi Jan

    As a registry key is easier to enable/disable & roll out to our 1000 users than snap shotting or re-doing officeXP & roll-ing this out.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0ExcelE rror Checking]
    "OmittedCells"=dword:00000000

    or

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0ExcelE rror Checking]
    "OmittedCells"=dword:00000001

    If the Error Checking key is missing, the option has never been changed from its default value (On)

    cheers Hans - that worked. How did you find that out? Did you do a snapshot of the setting on/off? Diana

    The only thing I knew in advance was that the setting had to be in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice10.0Excel. I couldn't find anything relevant. I cleared the "Formula omits cells in region" check box and quit Excel. Voil

    oh ok thanks Hans.
    In ExcelXP I was toggling the setting on/off however there was no registry key entry.
    It was only when I had to manually add the key to the registry that its now there, with the values on/off showing. <shrug> dunno
    thanks again Hans - Diana

    I am using Excel XP too, and I didn't have the registry entry since I had never changed the setting from the factory default. When I cleared the check box, nothing happened, but when I quit Excel and pressed F5 in the Registry Editor to update it, the new key was displayed.
