printing a book (2002)

I'm trying to print a book so that I can simply do a center staple binding. Pages are numbered i to iv, and then 1 to 31. So I need to put the paper through the printer four times, first printing pages i, iii, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13; then printing series of pages in their proper places.

I've only gotten as far as printing that first series, but not successfully. If I give the printer the lettered pages, it gives me an out-of-range error. But if I ask it to print the absolute page numbers (1 for i, 3 for iii, 5 for 1, 7 for 3, and so on) it prints i, iii, and then 5 (as I have it paginated). It skips pages 1 and 3.

    Any suggestions?

    a) In the File | Print... dialog, you can specify that you want to print odd-numbered (or even-numbered) pages only.

You can specify both page and section numbers for printing. If the section with page numbers i through iv is section 1, and the section with page numbers 1 through 31 is section 2, you can use

    p1s1, p3s1, p1s2, p3s2, p5s2, p7s2, p9s2, p11s2, p13s2

The online help has more examples.
