How do I disable the caps lock key? It gets turned on accidently a lot and messes up my typing. Thx.

If you tick the check box "Correct accidental usage of Caps Lock key" in Tools | AutoCorrrect..., Word will correct beginning a sentence with Caps Lock down instead of Shift.

To repair the damage done by Caps Lock, select the text, then Format | Change Case..., and select the tOGGLE cASE option.

You can also force it to make a sound that will alert you when it's pressed. Go to Control Panel/Accessibility Options/Keyboard.

Finally, you can always pry the key cap out. I rarely need all caps, so I modified mine. It's just that your keyboard might have that gap-toothed look.
