    wrapping text (xp)

i am wondering why sometimes a cell formatted to "wrap text," will go to the next line even if the text still fits within the row height of the line above. it happens when you get to the end of a line and it "just makes it," to fit on a certain row. the cell wrapping turns on and it is not needed. then you have to go back and adjust the row height back up manually. is there anything to help this? thanks...

Excel is not WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). Its calculations on what will fit into a cell are not exact. Mostly they are conservative so that it will break a line before it is required.

In addition to Legare's comments, is that, many times it is wrapped based on what it will look like printed. Printed sizes will be different than Displayed sizes and can affect the need to wrap.
