Export Custom Fields to Access (XP/SP1)
I have deployed a new Contact form to our PUBLIC folders. We want to make an Access table from the Contacts. I know how to get the Contacts to Access; it is not picking up our new User-Defined fields.

I have moved this thread to Access because I found some code in the Knowledge Base that is to be used in Access. Microsoft explicitly states that<hr>The Import and Export command in Outlook does not allow you to import or export information in user-defined fields (or properties).<hr>MSKB article How to Programmatically Export Outlook Items to Microsoft Access describes two alternatives:
- Include the custom fields in a table view in Outlook; you can then copy and paste the records including the custom fields. Not very attractive as a general solution.
- Use Automation from Access to get the data from Outlook. The code given in the MSKB article uses a DAO recordset; if you prefer, it can be easily modified to use an ADO recordset instead.
