    Symantec software (Windows 98)

I tried Norton SystemWorks previously, but it wouldn't load fully - it didn't crash, just wasn't able to completely install. Now I'm left with loads of Symantec files on my system, and presumably lots of registry entries. I have Symantec Live Update in my list of Add/Remove programs, but it says that it can't uninstall it - it thinks it's already been removed. Anyone come across this before? How would you set about removing all this rubbish? Norton System DOESN'T Work!!

    Re: Symantec software (Windows 98)

Tried this.. said it found nothing to 'clean'. I've moved the Symantec folders to a folder I've named Deleted Apps and will eventually delete it. Maybe the program couldn't find anything to clean because I've moved the folder(s), but that shouldn't make a difference?! I've Symantec folders in the Registry but even though I would love to delete this (and other software folders) I daren't.

Try RegVac or another one of the registry cleaners.
