    Re: Newbie Question: List Numbering (Office XP SP2)

    Hi, I can't get the macro to work on my Word (2002), but I am not sure if I have the same styles set up or have to do the numbering first.

    Anyway, I dont think you need selectcase. Does this code help?

    Sub EnterStartLetter()
    Dim NumName As String, i As Integer, numValue As Integer
    NumName = InputBox("Enter 1st letter:")

    'get code of letter (A is 65)
    numValue = CInt(Asc(UCase(NumName)) - 64)

    'check if A-Z
    For i = 1 To 26
    If numValue = i Then Exit For
    Next i
    If i < 1 Or i > 26 Then Exit Sub

    With ListGalleries(wdNumberGallery).ListTemplates(2).Li stLevels(1)
    .NumberFormat = "%1)"
    .TrailingCharacter = wdTrailingTab
    .NumberStyle = wdListNumberStyleLowercaseLetter
    .NumberPosition = CentimetersToPoints(0.51)
    .Alignment = wdListLevelAlignRight
    .TextPosition = CentimetersToPoints(0.63)
    .TabPosition = CentimetersToPoints(0.63)
    .ResetOnHigher = 0
    .StartAt = i '1 is a , 26 is z
    End With
    End Sub
    Thanks,

    pmatz
