    readability revisited (2002)

Working with Word's readability reports, I've noticed that they only work when the reading level is between a 3rd and 12th grade reading level. If I could get the count of syllables per word, I could generate my own reports.

Is there a way to get this count?

(ps--thanks to jscher2000. The macro works great.)

I have a vague recollection that Chris Greaves (who frequents the VB/VBA board) was doing something with syllables. Unless the grammar checker or the hyphenation engine knows about syllables, you might need to check every word against a dictionary or teach VBA how to understand English grammar.
