    Video card drivers

On my buddies computer which I am expected to maintain he is running WinXP Home and has a "Savage S3" ??? video card. When we changed from Win98 to Xp a simulator game "Take-Out Weight Curling" still runs but with very poor graphics. We have tried the compatibility mode with no improvement so figured maybe we could download some updated drivers. How do I determine the specific model of the existing card and where do I go to get updated drivers. Thanx very much.

You could try either Aida32 or Belarc Advisor. They're both <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> and will give you a lot of technical info about your hardware and software.

If the PC is a brand name one you probably can go to the vendor site and find the original hardware configuration.

Another suggestion... http://www.driverguide.com. S3 no longer exists as an individual corporation, so be careful - download what you know (or suspect) will work. Make a backup first!
