    mail and print (excel 2000)

    Hello excellites,

does anyone know how to solve this. I made an excel sheet that I want to mail via outlook as an attachment . So far all goes as expected.
But the page-properties have been changed and the reciever wont get the same printout in one page as I do . He gets the same sheet pasted over 4 pages.
I cannot shrink the sheet but need to send it and have it printed as i see and print it

    Any suggestions are welcome,
    Jan

The problem is most likely that his printer and its driver does not allow as much printable area as your printer does. A little less on the side and a little more on the bottom will then require 4 pages rather than 1.

    Some Options:
    Set to autofit the page
Set your printer driver to the printer of the receiver and set the page properties before you email
Print the output to a pdf file, these usually work accross printers the best.
Shrink your printout slightly to account for others haing less printable area.

Re: mail and print (excel 2000)

    That is a fast reply........

Indeed it is a question of whitespace. I like to have a code which autofits the printout on the recievers printer but being sent form my PC.
The file started as a word doc but in excel it is a lot easier to maintain. It needs to be as close as possible to the original word doc.
So if I could put in the code that it has to print an autofitted printout on one sheet of paper it would be perfect.

Can one guiede be to this goal ?
    Thanks,

    Hello Jan,

You don't really need code to do this. If you select File | Page Setup..., and select the option to Fit on 1 by 1 pages, then click OK, the setting will be saved with the workbook, so the worksheet will be printed on one page regardless of the printer type.

    Hans,

Will it work also after being mailed to someone else and on his pc?
    This would be great.

The fit-to-page setting is saved with the workbook so they will get it that way (though they can change it)
