    View unread messages

I have a user that is using Outlook 2000 SR-1 and Windows 2000 SP1. They want to view only the unread messages in the inbox. They go to view-->current view and uncheck "messages" and check "unread messages". The inbox still shows both read and unread (310 read and 56 unread). Closing/opening Outlook does not help (even tried a shutdown). I can log into Windows 2000 with my user name and create an Outlook profile on the same PC and it works the way it should. The problem just started last week (it worked fine until then) and they don't remember making any changes to the software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Re: View unread messages

most likely they accidently modified the view, it's very easy to do and outlook won't always warn you it's saving the changes.

go into view > current view > define view and select the unread view and reset it.
