    Chkdsk runs at every start (XP Pro SR1)

    After a couple forced shutdowns (the cat stepped on my power strip and turned it off) XP now runs check disk at every start and runs a check on the same partition. Nothing wrong is ever found. Is there some way to stop this. It is not a real problem just annoying. I have tried doing a search but did not come up with anything exactly like this.

    These links explain how. And there is a special issue with an HP scanner and a KB but the odds are you don't have an HP 5100C so I didn't include it. Let me know if you do. See:
