    THAT

Following on from Bill's puzzle in <post#=337609>post 337609</post#> , can you punctuate 5 'THAT's ( that that that that that) to make sense?

    Does that work?

oh, so you can only use those words? Well, that's ten-20 time's harder-will it make gramatical sense? I thought this was pretty easy, helps if I do it right! <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>

    Re: THAT

    Christina:

I should have made it clearer: the "that that that that that" have to be consecutive and placed in the middle of other words and punctuated (not necessarily in one sentance).

    As a hint the scenario is <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>a teacher marking an essay</font color=yellow></span hi> .

Or if you want another possible answer, but maybe not the one you was expecting, how about this <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
    <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>"What do you want?" asked Bob the shopkeeper
"That, that, that, that, that" replied Tom pointing at 5 items one after another.</font color=yellow></span hi>

    Re: THAT

My first thought was something along these lines...

<span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #000000; font-weight: bold"><font color=yellow>Two friends were using their magnetic poetry set on the refrigerator. One asked the other to hand him a "that" magnet, of which there were several. The friend first verifies that he heard the word correctly, and then points to one of the magnets:

    "'That'?"
    "'That.'"
    "That 'that'?"
    "That 'that.'"
    "Here you go."
    </font color=yellow></span hi>

    Tony:

Yes, your first solution was the one I was looking for.

The second strikes me as a little dubious, although I must admit it is grammatically correct.

    Tony.

    Re: THAT

    Tom:

I like it! Especially as it achieves six THATs. Very ingenious.

    ony.
