Indexing / Alphabetizing (word 2002)

I hope someone can help me. I have typed a long word document. I have used Headings 1, 2 and 3. After I got done with the document, I realized that I want to generate a list of these headings in alphabetical order. I tried inserting a table of contents, and it inserted, but I can't find a way to sort the list into alphabetical order.

Alternatively, I tried adding an index, but can't find a simple way to tell it to include in the index all of the headings 1, headings 2 and headings 3.

Does anyone have a suggestion that could help me here? I would surely appreciate it.

    You could try

Create a table of contents

Select it

Control-Shift-F9 to convert it to ordinary text

Whilst it is still selected, Table - Sort[/list]You will need to do the whole thing again any time there is a change, even if it is just repagination caused by selecting a different printer.

That worked! Thanks so very, very much. I figured there might be a way to tell it to treat all headings 1, 2 and 3 as index entries, but your solution sure did the trick!!! Much appreciation coming your way.
