I was going to check or edit your post but I can't get any version of your link to work. Did I just try it at the wrong time, or is the link dead? Could you try it again, please? Maybe there's something wrong on my end. When I click on the link, I get a white screen and a never-ending hourglass.

    Re: MSConfig

I dunno, Joe. I'll have to let you be the judge. When you made that post, I opened a command window and tried ping'ing my ISP's gateway and discovered my DSL was acting flaky for about an hour or so. Complete timeout of the pings or maybe two out of four responses received. A couple of hours later when the DSL seemed to have settled down, I WAS able to get to the link. However, this morning, with 22ms responses to my pings, I again can't get through. I'll just chalk it up to something weird on my machine if others are able to see the site.

    Hi Al

Just tried the link several times and got straight through every time but when I tried to ping the site a few times I kept on getting timeouts. As there are alternative links shown in other posts I just amend the original to highlight a potential problem with the link.

(Edited by tony55 on 27-Feb-04 12:03. Possible problem with the link)
msconfig is not included in Windows 2000. For info about this issue see this tip

There may be a problem getting through on this link as mentioned by <!profile=bigaldoc>bigaldoc<!/profile>. If you can not get through the links in other posts resolve the issue the same way.

Good for you - glad you got what you need. And, just to fess up, since we'll never know if it was a sporadic problem with the site or MY local ISP, I just got through to the link in a second or two.

    Re: MSConfig

    BigAl,
I had some wierdness Wednesday night on my Cable connection. Was getting bombarded by somebody so that Sygate personal firewall was chewing up 40-50% of my CPU. Wreaked havoc with all responsiveness. Charter cable was no help. Said I should try to find out who (what IP) was doing it and report it to their abuse dept. I'm thinking - hey you're support, you've got access to more tools to diagnose your network than I, why don't you do it? Guess they just get to chalk up another 'resolved on first call' to their list. Anyway, turned the PC off and things were OK yesterday. Now, I'm seriously considering getting a router to add another layer of defense at home.
