    Alt Mail Plan

Okay. I have our SBS2000 server running nicely. Exchange receives mail, users send mail. Symantec AV for Exchange blocks viruses (haven't gotten to spam config yet). We have secondary MX record in DNS for domain to point to a different server should ours drop off line for whatever reason.

My question: Where do I look (and what is it called) to configure Exchange to go to the external server (part of DR site) to fetch the spooled mail that occurred while we were down? Assume the I-net connection is up. The mail server is not part of the Active Directory. External like ISP I would think. Do I configure a POP3 connection? I only want to check it once daily if everything is normal (no DSL outages).

    Thank you!

You want the external server to relay your e-mail to your server. It needs to be configured to periodically attempt to send the mail to your server.
